Two Weekend Recording and Mixing Workshops now scheduled! Weekend 1: September 11-12, 2010 Setup, Recording, Tracking, Overdubs Sound Pure Training is offering this weekend class for those interested in audio production and recording. All skill-levels are welcome to attend this exciting two day event. The class will be taught by Sound Pure professional recording engineers in the world-class Sound Pure Studios A-Room. Come and learn how to professionally track a band in the studio. Learn about mic and mic pre selection, mic placement, signal flow, Pro Tools, studio etiquette, working with professional musicians, and much more. We will track a professional band over the course of the weekend. The band will be led by guitarist Scott Sawyer. Click here to read more about Scott. This is your chance to participate in a real recording session on a project that will be commercially released for Scott’s upcoming album. Class Schedule (tentative) Day 1: Saturday, September 11, 2010 10-11 Introduction - Meet the instructors and other students 11-12 Tour of the studios 12-1 Recording studio setup/preproduction discussion 1 - 2 Break for lunch 2 - 3 Microphone and preamp selection 3 - 4 Setup session 5 - 7 Getting sounds At the end of Day 1 the studio will be setup and ready to go for tracking the following morning. Day 2: Sunday, September 12, 2010 10-12 Basic tracking (rhythm tracks) 12-1 Lunch break 1 - 3 Finish basic tracking 3 - 4 Getting rough mixes 4 - 6 Overdubs 6 - 7 Making rough mixes and final thoughts Note: You may participate in one or both days, or the entire 2x weekend series Find out more about the weekend mixing class.
